about me

Originally from LA, I am an artist, food lover, chef, and a most-of-the-time vegetarian (for about six years now) who likes to keep things in the kitchen simple and intuitive. I most enjoy making things that are nearly impossible to mess up, finding a happy balance between precision (measuring cups of flour for bread) and freeform (adding a few shakes of cinnamon and a couple squares of dark chocolate to vegetarian chili).
I recently spent four months in a small town in Brittany, France completing a post-baccalaureate fine art certificate, which was for me as much a culinary experience as an artistic one. I enjoyed trying everything from fresh oysters to escargot to every falafel Paris had to offer. Among the great pleasures in life that I was lucky enough to indulge in on a regular basis were good wine, cheese, and a freshly baked French baguette for less than a dollar.
I am available for personal chef work (not exclusive to vegetarian or vegan diets), reachable at mignonmange@gmail.com and art commissions of all kinds, reachable at madeleineignon@gmail.com. For more information about my art, check out my website at madeleineignon.com!
